I cant find work because of my appearance ?

im unemployed, have been for 10 months now, find it so hard to get work, my cv is fine, my interview technique is excellent, (ive been told by specialist's) the only reason i think im not getting work is because im asian and have a beared (im sikh grow my hair for religious belieffs) apparently the "terrorist look" aint to popular these days. : (

right now im just managing to pay my bills everymonth, i have to buy and sell things on ebay to keep up with my monthly debits.

i send out 20 cv's a day, i apply online and through newspapers, i collect application forms from shops, i do everything i can possibly do.

all i get back is someone with more experience beat you to it.

and yes i am applying for jobs im able to do, and have relevan experience in.

should i just give up?

Are you British? Isn't it illegal in the UK to employ a workforce that isn't culturally diverse?

As an unemployed student I can say with authority that unemployment, while not financially beneficial, spews forth with abandon great torrents of Jeremy Kyle, eating one's weight in pot noodles and industrious yet seemingly endless opportunities for masturbatory exertion.

no you shouldnt give up....tho maybe try your best to conform to what is expected...which is know is wrong...but once you have proved you can do the job your appearance wont matter...but unfortunately til then first impressions count and in modern society people are scared....wishing you the very best of luck

When I read your question I assumed that you had piercings or rainbow colored hair. ( sorry that was my first thought.)

I believe that on most applications it asks if you have any clubs, or any organizations that you are affiliated with. If you believe that you are being mistaken for a terrorist because of your religious beard growth I would put it on that list. That would not only give the employer the opportunity to ask questions regarding your affiliation but, it would give you the opportunity to explain your beard.
