Why do me and my sister look so different?

My little sister and me are full blooded sisters. When we were younger, we looked like twins. We were both born platinum blonde and fair skinned (my eyes are blue and hers are brown). However as we got older, my hair turned dark brown or black (depends on lighting), my eyes are Asian/Native American shaped, my skin tone is reddish brown (Native American), my lips turned out very thick and high cheekbones. She has Caucasian eyes, lighter brown hair, paler skin, thinner lips and her cheekbones are pronounced as mine. We're both Natirah which is Native American, European and African descent. Why did I get a more exotic look but my little sister just looks white? We both have the same genetics. Does this happen a lot in mixed race families?

i think that both of you look different because i guess it depends on what genes you inherited from your parents. its complicated to explain but i learned something about this in my AP biology class. i have a reative who is full blooded indian. she has tan skin but her sister looks like she's caucasian. they have the same parents and everything

genetics are complicated. there are different parts of DNA. your sister could have gotten a grandparents genes and you a parents(etc.) you are two different people o you have different DNA yes this is commen(this happens more often than not)

Hispanic families are like that. My mom is white but my dad is mixed with some type of indiginous so my brother has a darker skin than me and I pretty much look white... It's normal .
